NFL picks: Week 10 Comments
Last week: 8-5 (86-43)
We’re at the midway point in the season and things are starting to shake out for the playoff race.
In the AFC, the Patriots, Steelers and Colts are destined for division titles while the Chargers and Broncos will again battle for the AFC West title.
Division titles in the NFC looks like it might go to the Vikings, Saints and Cardinals. The Cowboys and Eagles should both make the playoffs with the division title Dallas’ to lose.
I went 8-5 with my picks last week. I’m most upset about the Green Bay Packers, who had no business losing to Tampa Bay.
Check out my picks for week 10, which features the first Thursday night game of the year.
Thursday
Bears at 49ers: This is kind of a weak start to the Thursday night games. Doesn’t really matter though, I don’t have the NFL Network. I’m going to take the underdog right out of the gate. Bears will win on the road.
Sunday
Bills at Titans: After its 0-6 start, I think Tennessee will find a way to finish 8-8 or 7-9. They’re just not that bad of a team, even with Vince Young at quarterback. I’ll take the Titans in this one.
Saints at Rams: St. Louis is coming off a bye week and should be well-rested. So theyre my pick…OK, no they’re not, they’ll lose by a lot to the Saints. Just want to make sure the six people that read this blog are paying attention.
Buccaneers at Dolphins: Why is Chad Henne playing? Miami looked really, really good offensively when Henne was replaced by Pat White in order to run the wildcat. The Dolphins should play White more. Either way, though, they should beat Tampa Bay in this one.
Lions at Vikings: Wow, Minnesota should completely embarrass Detroit in this one. This is the lock of the year. Vikings are guaranteed to win.
Jaguars at Jets: This is a tough one. Both of these teams are stewing in mediocrity. I’ll take the Jets, but I don’t feel to good about it.
Bengals at Steelers: This is the third best game of the week. I think Cincinatti will play well like they usually do against Pittsburgh. But it won’t be enough. The Steelers are playing well and should take care of the Bengals at home.
Broncos at Redskins: Washington is 2-6 and Denver is 6-2. Would it surprise me if the ‘Skins beat the Broncos? No. Absolutely not. Matter of fact, I’ll take Washington.
Falcons at Panthers: Carolina is just like Tenessee. They started off poorly, but just can’t be that bad. It’s tempting to take them in this one because Atlanta has slipped a little, but I just can’t. Falcons are the pick.
Chiefs at Raiders: Terrible, terrible game. I’m taking the Chiefs and moving on to the next game.
Eagles at Chargers: This is a toss-up. So I’m going to flip a coin. Heads is Philly, tails is San Diego. Tails. San Diego is the pick.
Seahawks at Cardinals: Seattle won last week against Detriot, but they didn’t look all that good. I don’t think they have the talent to compete with Arizona. The Cardinals should win.
Cowboys at Packers: Dallas is really starting to play well and Green Bay took a giant step back with their lackluster effort against Tampa Bay last week. Still, I think the home-field advantage will be enough to get the Packers back on the right track. I’ll take Green Bay.
Patriots at Colts: This is a beautiful game. New England is confident and rightfully so. But so are the undefeated Colts. Peyton Manning versus Tom Brady. Awesome. I’m going to take New England in the upset.
Monday
Ravens at Browns: Really? This is the Monday night game? Prime time? Give me a break. I’ll take Baltimore because Cleveland is just not good.
